YouTube Music rolls out labels for AI-generated songs
YouTube Music has begun labeling songs created primarily with generative AI, displaying on-screen indicators that clarify whether audio was altered or fully generated using artificial intelligence.

YouTube Music is rolling out new labels to identify songs created primarily with generative AI tools, including tracks featuring AI-generated compositions or vocals, according to Crypto Briefing and The Verge. The labels appear directly on the playback screen and are slated to expand later to the main YouTube application.[1][4]
Screenshots shared by Crypto Briefing show an AI info badge placed on the player interface. Tapping the badge opens a "How this was made" panel indicating "Made with AI" and explaining that the audio was altered or fully generated using AI.[4]
The rollout comes amid a wider industry push to identify synthetic music across digital platforms. Spotify already features labels for AI-assisted tracks, and Apple Music plans to introduce its own "Made With AI" designations later this year, according to TechCrunch via Techmeme. Mashable reported that Deezer is also responding by adding a search filter for AI-generated songs.[2][3]
