Ledger unveils Atom Android security device with Solana Mobile integration

Ledger has unveiled the Atom, an Android-based touchscreen security device featuring Solana Mobile integration, AI-agent controls, and hardware tamper protections.

Hardware wallet maker Ledger has announced the Atom, an Android-based security device designed to run everyday applications while maintaining hardware-level security. The touchscreen device runs LedgerOS, an operating system based on Android, and is designed as a data-only companion meant to sit alongside a user's smartphone rather than replace it on day one.[4][9][12][15][5]

Solana Mobile announced Ledger as its first hardware expansion partner, confirming the Atom will ship with the Seeker app preinstalled. The integration provides access to Solana's wallet and dApp store with more than 1,500 apps, routing transaction signatures through a Secure Element. The Atom also incorporates AI-agent oversight, an indicator that signals when the secure enclave is in use, and a physical hardware switch that disconnects cameras and microphones.[7][1][10][12][6]

The announcement arrives as Paris-based Ledger navigates supply-chain concerns and an investigation into tampered hardware wallets sold in Asia, following a reported $90 million cryptocurrency theft. According to CoinDesk, the Atom features a tamper-proof enclosure aimed at blocking screen-reader implants. Ledger stated the device will be sold exclusively through its own website. Priced at $899 (or 849 euros for reservations), shipments are scheduled for summer 2027.[2][9][13][16][17][14][11][8]
