Apple and Meta have partnered to bring Meta's newly released Muse Spark Open artificial intelligence model to Mac computers, according to reports by CNBC and Axios. The collaboration marks the first public partnership between the two technology companies since 2017.[2][6][9]

Meta released the weights for Muse Spark Open on Hugging Face on October 15. Meta AI Research described the release as a multimodal mixture-of-experts model built for coding and long-horizon agents, featuring 816 billion total parameters, 42 billion active parameters, and a 1-million-token context window. Meta described it as the most capable open-weight model from the United States to date.[7][10][11]

Under the partnership, Meta stated that it worked directly with Apple to enable Muse Spark Open to run locally on M5 Ultra Mac Studios. Developers and users can link two to four Mac Studios together to handle coding and agentic workloads. Alexandr Wang noted that former Apple executive Daniel Gross, who is now at Meta, helped bring the companies together for the initiative, Axios reported.[1][3][4][6][8]
