Netflix replaces chief content officer Bela Bajaria with Peter Rice
Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria is stepping down after a decade at the streaming service, with former Disney and Fox executive Peter Rice scheduled to take over the role on October 26.
Bela Bajaria is leaving Netflix after 10 years at the company, where she most recently served as chief content officer overseeing its movies and television shows, according to reporting by Variety and Business Insider. Former Disney and Fox executive Peter Rice has been named as her successor and is scheduled to begin in the role on October 26.[1][2][4]
The leadership change comes amid pressure on the streaming platform. The Financial Times reported that the transition is part of an effort to arrest a declining share price, while Polymarket noted the shakeup coincides with slowing growth and declining viewer engagement at the company.[3][5]
