Microsoft has entered the specialized decision AI space with Microsoft-Decision-1, a model designed for fast, structured business decisions and decision scoring. The model has launched and is currently accessible through Microsoft Foundry.[1][2][3][6]

Rather than relying on OpenAI, Microsoft built the initial version by post-training Alibaba's Qwen3.5-9B, according to reports from Neowin, The New Stack, and Command Line's Achint Srivastava relayed by Techmeme. Microsoft indicated that it will soon rebase the model on MAI, OpenAI, and other architectures.[1][3][4][5][6]

According to Analytics Insight, Microsoft claims Decision-1 operates 35 times faster than GPT-6 Sol at a price of USD 0.042 per million input tokens. The New Stack noted that the offering matches Jev's price, though the reported performance benchmarks remain self-reported and await independent verification.[2][5]
