Apple enters smart display market with $299 HomeView and co-developed accessories
At its 'Welcome Home' event, Apple announced the HomeView smart display powered by an A18 chip and Siri AI, alongside a new Apple Home Collection of accessories made in partnership with LG and Schneider Electric.

Apple entered the smart display category at its 'Welcome Home' event on October 13, 2026, revealing the HomeView hub. Priced at $299 in the United States and $429 in Canada, the device serves as the centerpiece of Apple's push into connected living, positioning the company to compete directly against smart displays from Amazon and Google.[1][2][6][9][15][18]
The HomeView features a 7-inch square touchscreen, an A18 processor, and a 12-megapixel FaceTime camera. Available in tabletop speaker-base and wall-mounted form factors across four colors—Silver, Starlight, Rose Pink, and Space Gray—the device relies primarily on voice controls and Siri AI. Its built-in camera uses facial recognition to identify up to six family members and tailor responses to each individual user. Pre-orders opened on announcement day, with shipments scheduled to begin November 13.[5][8][10][16][17][18][19]
Alongside the hub, Apple introduced the Apple Home Collection, a lineup of smart home devices created with LG and Schneider Electric that includes security cameras, video doorbells, thermostats, and smart locks. TechRadar reported that Apple is not manufacturing the accessories itself, while Bloomberg noted the partner devices will cost between $199 and $399 and arrive in December. Apple also rounded out the event by unveiling a refreshed Apple TV 4K and a new HomePod mini 2.[3][4][7][11][12][14][16]
