Metaplanet Inc. plans to raise ¥52 billion through zero-coupon Euro-Yen denominated convertible bonds due in 2031, an offering valued across reports between $328 million and $329 million. The company announced that proceeds from the issuance will go toward repaying debt and funding share repurchases.[1][2][3][4][5][8]

According to official offering details, Metaplanet plans to allocate approximately ¥23.6 billion—roughly $149 million—to pay down borrowings under a bitcoin-collateralized credit facility. Up to approximately ¥28.3 billion (reported by CoinDesk as up to $179 million) will be designated for company share buybacks. Metaplanet previously secured a credit facility of up to $800 million, with roughly $649.5 million outstanding as of September 30, 2026.[1][3]

The corporate treasury held 44,000 BTC at the end of September 2026. Metaplanet disclosed that its outstanding borrowing ratio relative to its bitcoin net asset value had climbed to approximately 17.7%, surpassing its internal ceiling guideline of 10%. The five-year zero-interest bond structure aims to optimize the firm's balance sheet, restore financial flexibility, and lower leverage without selling any of its bitcoin reserves.[3][4][6][7][8]
