Lido launches direct ETH staking across four Layer 2 networks via Chainlink CCIP
Lido has introduced one-transaction ETH staking on Arbitrum, Base, Linea, and Optimism, utilizing Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol to eliminate manual bridging and issue wstETH directly to users.

Liquid staking protocol Lido has launched direct, one-transaction ether staking across four Ethereum Layer 2 networks: Arbitrum, Base, Linea, and Optimism. According to reports from CoinDesk and CoinGape, the expansion allows users to stake ETH directly on these scaling networks without the need to manually bridge tokens back to the Ethereum mainnet first.[1][2][3]
The cross-chain functionality is powered by Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP). Under the integration, stakers on the supported Layer 2s directly receive wrapped staked ETH (wstETH) upon staking.[1][3]
Crypto Briefing reported that expanding staking to multiple Layer 2 networks is intended to improve decentralized finance accessibility and could help boost broader Ethereum staking adoption.[2]
