London-headquartered asset manager Janus Henderson, which oversees roughly $500 billion, has partnered with tokenization platform Centrifuge to roll out JQQQ. Announced on Tuesday, the offering is described as the first licensed, issuer-sponsored tokenized fund designed to track the Nasdaq-100 Index and is available exclusively on the Stellar network.[1][4][7][8]

Unlike wrapped products that create digital replicas of existing offchain securities, JQQQ was built to be issued and operated natively onchain via Centrifuge's infrastructure. Legally, the fund sits within Anemoy Capital SPC Limited, a segregated portfolio company registered in the British Virgin Islands. Anemoy Asset Management Limited acts as investment manager, while Janus Henderson Investors US LLC serves as sub-investment manager. Nasdaq licenses the underlying index.[1]

The fund is restricted from U.S. persons and is initially open only to eligible non-U.S. professional investors. Reporting by The Wall Street Journal cited by multiple outlets noted a $100,000 minimum investment, while the partners' official release touted competitive fees without listing an exact rate, custodian, or formal subscription launch date.[1][2][3][5][9]

The launch marks an expansion of Janus Henderson's onchain offerings, following its rollout of an S&P 500 fund on Base with Centrifuge in September. According to Nick Cherney, Janus Henderson's head of innovation, the firm's onchain platform now encompasses over $1 billion in institutional strategies across U.S. Treasuries, structured credit, and public equities.[1]

The firm and tokenization company Centrifuge announced the launch on Tuesday, and said the fund will be offered only on the Stellar network. The companies called JQQQ the first blockchain-native fund to give investors Nasdaq-100 exposure through an issuer-sponsored strategy. The release said the fund is managed by Janus Henderson. Its legal notes place JQQQ inside Anemoy Capital SPC Limited , a segregated portfolio company registered in the British Virgin Islands. Anemoy Asset Management Limited is the investment manager, with Janus Henderson Investors US LLC as sub-investment manager. Built Onchain, Not Wrapped Many tokenized products are digital copies of securities that already sit in traditional systems. According to the release, JQQQ was instead designed to be issued and run on blockchain rails, which the partners said could let its shares plug into other onchain applications, feed into programmable portfolios, and possibly serve as collateral for lending. The release’s legal notes said any collateral, lending or similar onchain uses would come from independent third parties, sit outside Janus Henderson’s management of the fund, and are not offered, facilitated or endorsed by Janus Henderson. “Tokenization becomes much more powerful when the assets investors want to own can also become building blocks for an onchain financial system,” said Anil Sood , Centrifuge’s chief strategy and growth officer, in the release. The release said the fund comes with “competitive fees” but gave no fee rate. It said JQQQ is not available to U.S. persons and is open only to eligible investors in jurisdictions where it can lawfully be offered and marketed. It did not list a minimum investment, a custodian, or a date when the fund begins taking subscriptions. Janus Henderson’s Growing Onchain Lineup Nick Cherney , Janus Henderson’s head of innovation, claimed in the release that the firm is “a top five global provider of tokenized funds” and said its onchain platform “now includes more than $1 billion in institutional strategies across U.S. Treasuries, structured credit, and public equities.” He added that the company wants to become “the world’s most technologically sophisticated asset manager.” JQQQ is not the two firms’ first index fund together. Centrifuge and Janus Henderson brought an S&P 500 fund onchain on Base in September called the Janus Henderson Anemoy S&P 500 Fund. Centrifuge says it also powers strategies for Apollo and S&P Dow Jones Indices. Sean Wasserman , Nasdaq’s head of index product management, said “demand continues to grow for exposure to established, transparent benchmarks.” The release put real-world assets on Stellar above $4 billion in 2026. Denelle Dixon , CEO and executive director of the Stellar Development Foundation, said the network “was purpose-built for regulated finance,” adding, “we expect many more products like this to follow.” Related Listen: ‘This Is a Better Version of a Stock, Period,’ Says Cutler The post Janus Henderson Launches Onchain Nasdaq-100 Fund With Centrifuge, Exclusively on Stellar appeared first on Unchained .
