Apple has refreshed its personal computer lineup with the announcement of an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro and a 24-inch iMac, both powered by the new M6 processor, Bloomberg and other outlets reported on Tuesday. The updates highlight accelerated graphics and local artificial intelligence performance, with both machines scheduled to become available on November 6, 2026.[2][3][6][7][9]

The new 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at $1,999 and includes a 12-core CPU and a 12-core GPU, adding two cores to each over the M5 chip. According to announcements and reports compiled by Wall St Engine and Techmeme, the laptop delivers up to 30% faster graphics, 25% faster AI workloads, and 1.9 times faster Neural Engine performance. The notebook also adds support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, supports up to 32GB of unified memory, offers up to 24 hours of battery life, and provides an optional nano-textured display, with pre-orders beginning October 28. MacRumors noted that the machine's 170GB/s memory bandwidth is not available on the base 16GB model.[1][6][10][12][14][16][17]

The updated 24-inch iMac starts at $1,499. Details cited by Techmeme and Apple Hub report that the desktop can be configured with up to a 12-core CPU, up to a 12-core GPU, and a dual 16-core Neural Engine, which Apple claims delivers up to 40% faster CPU performance, double the graphics speeds, and four times the AI capability. The desktop retains its existing design across seven vibrant color options without adopting an OLED display, while adding an N1 wireless chip and an optional 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port on its external power adapter brick.[5][7][11][13][15][18]
