Elon Musk says his companies will figure out how to make chips better than anyone
Elon Musk acknowledged he has no idea how to manufacture microchips, but claimed his companies will eventually outpace industry competitors by leveraging their expertise in custom equipment.

Elon Musk acknowledged that he has "no idea how to make microchips," yet expressed confidence that his companies will eventually outshine veteran chipmakers, according to reports from Bloomberg and Cointelegraph. Musk stated that his businesses would probably "figure out how to make chips better than anyone."[1][2][5]
Musk attributed this expectation to his companies' established track record and expertise in building customized equipment, Bloomberg reported. Commentator Mario Nawfal noted that while discussing his "Terafab" ambitions, Musk likened the move into semiconductor fabrication to his beginnings at Tesla and SpaceX, saying he did not know how to build cars or rockets when he first started either.[2][3]
Crypto Briefing reported that Musk's chipmaking ambitions have the potential to disrupt the semiconductor industry, suggesting that entering the space could lower manufacturing costs and decrease reliance on major foundries.[4]

Elon speaking about his Terafab ambitions is genuinely fascinating. “I do not know how to make chips. I have no idea how to make them, but we will figure it out.” You have to start somewhere. I did not know how to make cars or rockets either.” There's something meaningful to learn about how @elonmusk approaches these enormous industrial challenges. He doesn't wait until he's personally mastered an industry before entering it. He learns enough to identify the fundamental problems brings together people who know how to solve them and starts building. Semiconductor manufacturing is a different beast entirely. Even the most experienced companies spend decades mastering it. But that's what makes this interesting. And we've seen that approach before with Tesla and SpaceX. 🔥 Writer: Oliver https://t.co/hk5wKI3jXE
