Apple has officially unveiled the HomePod mini 2, marking the lineup's first hardware refresh in six years according to Gizmodo. The smart speaker is priced at $149 in the United States and $199 in Canada, with availability beginning October 30. In India, Business Today reported that pricing and availability have also been disclosed, while tech outlet Digit noted Apple simultaneously introduced a device named HomePod View.[2][3][4][5][6][8][10][11][12]

The second-generation model runs on Apple's S10 processor and introduces Sound Glow, an interactive visual lighting feature designed to react to music. It comes in five colors: pink, green, blue, white, and midnight. In addition to serving as a Mac speaker, four HomePod mini units can be linked to deliver surround sound when paired with an Apple TV 4K.[3][4][7][10][11]

Although the speaker is designed to support Siri AI, Apple confirmed the intelligence features will not be present at launch. Engadget and 9to5Mac reported that the new Siri AI capabilities are scheduled to roll out through a future software update instead.[1][9][11]
