Activation of a key bug fix on the XRP Ledger has slipped into November after validator support briefly dropped, resetting its mandatory two-week countdown less than two days before completion, CoinDesk reported. Network rules require at least 29 of 35 validators to maintain continuous approval over a 14-day window. Support slipped to 26 validators for two hours on Wednesday before recovering to 31.[1][4][6][7]

The delayed amendment, known as fixCleanup3_4_0, patches a token-issuance loophole and updates how lending code processes overdue loans and defaults, according to BSCNews. Tracking portal XRPLWin now schedules the amendment for activation on November 4 at 14:46 UTC following the timer reset.[3][6][7]

The amendment setback coincided with broader network stability issues. CryptoSlate reported that XRP Ledger Operations confirmed ledger-closing times returned to normal on Oct. 22 after operators implemented a recommended configuration change. That adjustment countered intermittent transaction-processing delays, while developers continue testing a software release meant to permanently resolve the underlying cause.[2][5]
