Ripple has secured final approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) to launch Ripple National Trust Bank, CEO Brad Garlinghouse announced on X. The decision marks the completion of a regulatory chartering process that started when the OCC issued conditional approval the prior December.[1][5][7]

The national trust bank will serve as a federally supervised entity handling enterprise digital asset custody and managing the reserves backing Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin. Under the operational structure, RLUSD issuance remains under Ripple's New York-regulated entity, while custody and reserve management fall under federal oversight.
