Anthropic files for Nasdaq IPO under ticker ANT, revealing massive revenue and catastrophic AI risk warnings
Artificial intelligence startup Anthropic has filed its S-1 registration statement to list on the Nasdaq under ticker ANT, disclosing $16.3 billion in first-half revenue alongside an $80.7 billion net loss and warnings of existential AI risks.

Claude developer Anthropic has publicly filed its Form S-1 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering of Class A common stock on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker ANT. Led by underwriters Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and J.P. Morgan, the proposed offering could take place in mid-November. While the number of shares and price range have not yet been set, market speculation indicates the company could seek up to $100 billion at a valuation between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion.[2][3][5][8][11][17][19][24][25]
The filing offers the first detailed public look at the AI developer's financial performance, showing first-half 2026 revenue reached $16.3 billion, surging from roughly $1.2 billion in the first half of 2025. Despite the top-line surge and an operating cash flow of $3.9 billion, Anthropic posted an $80.7 billion net loss for the period, with roughly $72 billion driven by non-cash fair-value charges on convertible notes. The prospectus also detailed staggering cloud and infrastructure spending, including minimum compute commitments totaling hundreds of billions of dollars across Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and SpaceXAI.[1][4][6][7][15][16][23][25][26]
Beyond its finances, Anthropic devoted 94 pages of the prospectus to risk factors, warning that sufficiently advanced AI models could present catastrophic or existential risks to humanity. The company cautioned that systems may behave autonomously in unintended ways or demonstrate self-preserving behaviors, noting that potential harms could create liabilities too vast to insure. Structured as a public benefit corporation, Anthropic maintains governance mechanisms granting its seven co-founders 50.1% voting control via a Class F share, warning prospective shareholders that corporate actions may at times diverge from traditional profit maximization.[9][12][13][14][18][20][21][25][27]

Digging through Anthropics filing, and their numbers are crazy. One of the biggest winner is SpaceXSI: - Anthropic’s IPO filing shows $974M in Q2 operating profit on $11.6B in revenue, up 1,368% year over year. - First-half revenue reached $16.3 billion, roughly 14x the previous year. Operating cash flow was positive at $3.9 billion. - Anthropic also disclosed up to $120.5B in spending on NVIDIA-powered compute through SpaceXAI, under agreements extending into 2029. The $80.7 billion first-half net loss included $81.1 billion in non-cash charges tied to financial instruments. Reading that headline as cash burn badly misrepresents the business. Looking very very good for Anthropic.
