Whop reaches $5.1 billion valuation in Series D round led by Sequoia
Whop has raised up to $205 million at a $5.1 billion valuation in a Series D round led by Sequoia Capital with backing from Shopify, following rapid revenue growth.

Palo Alto startup Whop has raised between $200 million and $205 million in Series D funding at a $5.1 billion valuation, according to reports from Bloomberg and industry disclosures. The investment round was led by Sequoia Capital, with participation from Shopify.[1][2][3][4][5][7][8][9]
Originally launched as a marketplace for selling sneaker bots, Whop has expanded into a commercial platform that integrates artificial intelligence to suggest business decisions. The platform serves digital creators, e-commerce sellers, mobile app makers, and service providers, with more than 100,000 people reportedly earning money through the service each month. The fresh funding will be used to broaden the platform and continue developing tools that help users earn income online.[3][4][5][6][7]
The financing follows a sharp rise in revenue, with Whop surpassing $400 million in annualized revenue compared to $60 million at the beginning of 2025. Although Sequoia Capital previously passed on investing, the firm reversed course after tracking the company's recent expansion. Former Sequoia chief Doug Leone, who cited the principle of going where others are not, has joined Whop's board of directors.[4][6][7]
