US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds snapped a two-week streak of net outflows, closing the trading week ending Oct. 23, 2026, with approximately $301 million in net inflows. The positive performance marked a rebound for the sector, though a sharp late-week shift limited the overall gains.[1][2][5][6]

The week's inflows were heavily front-loaded. According to commentator That Martini Guy, Bitcoin funds took in more than $1 billion across the first three sessions before shedding $773.5 million over Thursday and Friday. Data shared by TylerD indicated daily redemptions reached $635.6 million on Oct. 22 and $137.9 million on Oct. 23. Decrypt reported that the two consecutive days of outflows kept total spot Bitcoin ETF flows for October net negative.[1][4][5]

In contrast to Bitcoin's net gains, spot Ethereum ETFs saw sustained selling, registering $205.6 million in net outflows according to CoinMarketCap Research and $220.7 million under provisional figures cited by That Martini Guy. CoinMarketCap Research also reported that long-term Bitcoin holders distributed 50,017 BTC during the week—roughly 13 times the 3,700 BTC bought by ETFs—while perpetual funding rates increased by about 25%, moving into the top fifth of their 90-day range.[3][4]

Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF flows are telling two very different stories. US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a provisional $301.2M in net inflows last week. Ethereum ETFs went the other way, losing $220.7M. But the Bitcoin numbers need context. BTC funds pulled in more than $1B during the first three sessions before giving back $773.5M over the final two. And the figures aren't final because two fund entries were missing for Friday. Still, the contrast is worth watching. Bitcoin is attracting more capital over the full week, while ETH is struggling to maintain institutional demand.
