Apple unveils redesigned iPad mini with 8.5-inch OLED display and A20 Pro chip starting at $699

Apple has introduced a redesigned iPad mini featuring an 8.5-inch OLED display, an A20 Pro processor, and IP67 water and dust resistance, with pricing starting at $699 ahead of a November 6 release.

Apple has officially unveiled a redesigned iPad mini equipped with an 8.5-inch OLED screen, bezels that are 24% thinner, and the 2nm A20 Pro chip. The tablet features an ultra-thin 5.4mm chassis that is 14% thinner and 13% lighter than the previous generation, while adding IP67 water and dust resistance—making it Apple's first water-resistant iPad.[4][6][7][11][12]

The larger Super Retina XDR OLED display delivers up to 1,200 nits of peak HDR brightness and offers an optional nano-texture finish on select configurations. However, the screen remains locked at a 60Hz refresh rate and still lacks Apple's ProMotion 120Hz technology. Additional hardware updates include redesigned Acoustic Display speakers, a 12-megapixel landscape Center Stage camera, fast charging, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, a new C2 cellular modem, and Apple Intelligence integration.[1][2][5][9][10][12]

Available in two colors, the new iPad mini starts at $699 for a 128GB model, reaching up to $1,249 when fully configured.
