Stellar unveils Project Thruput with 7.02 million payments per second in early benchmarks

Stellar has introduced Project Thruput, a new execution model that is currently live on FutureNet. According to benchmark figures released by the Stellar Development Foundation, the architecture demonstrated an execution capacity of 7.02 million payments per second in a single validator when scaled across eight machines, compared to 1.18 million payments per second on a single machine.[1][2][4]

The initiative is structured as a fee-free network designed to expand scalability and alter transaction costs, Crypto Briefing reported. However, the outlet noted that it remains uncertain whether or when the fee-free framework will be integrated into the Stellar mainnet.[3]
