Valve has rolled out an update transitioning the Steam client for Linux to 64-bit, according to reports from VideoCardz and HotHardware. The client update addresses a longstanding architecture transition on Linux systems.[5][6]

Alongside the 64-bit Linux client update, Valve launched a new feature called Achievement Sets for Steam Beta Client users, HotHardware reported. The system allows game developers to split achievements from base games and downloadable content into organized groups, each tracking its own completion status and progress bar.[1][3][6][7]

The overhaul is designed to resolve a persistent frustration for completionists, ensuring that newly released DLC achievements no longer break an existing 100% completion record on a base game, according to Neowin and VideoCardz. An interface preview shared by VideoCardz illustrated the feature on PowerWash Simulator 2, displaying separated sets for the base game alongside add-on packs like the Adventure Time Pack and STAR WARS Pack.[2][4]
