Sony has officially introduced the Prism Collection, a new lineup featuring translucent DualSense wireless controllers and matching console covers for the PlayStation 5. The see-through aesthetic exposes internal hardware components, evoking the translucent plastic gaming hardware popular during the 1990s.[1][2][3][4][5]

Addressing the nostalgic release, Sony stated that it understands "how much our fans have been looking forward to the return of transparent controllers," as reported by TechRadar.[2]

Promotional materials shared by outlets including VGC and iPhone in Canada show the collection across three color schemes: deep blue, vibrant red, and teal green. In each version, the controller shells and the upper portions of the PS5 console faceplates use tinted transparent plastic that lets users see the mechanisms inside.[1][3][4]
