Securitize taps Anchorage Digital Bank to issue and redeem stablecoins directly

Securitize has partnered with federally chartered Anchorage Digital Bank to mint, hold, and redeem stablecoins used to settle tokenized trades, eliminating the need for third-party intermediaries.

Tokenization platform Securitize has formed a partnership with Anchorage Digital Bank, N.A. to directly issue and redeem stablecoins for settling tokenized asset transactions. Anchorage described the arrangement as an alternative to securing digital dollars through intermediaries, positioning the federally chartered bank to handle the entire mint-to-redemption process, custody the tokens, and settle trades.[1][2][3]

The companies did not specify which stablecoins Securitize will utilize under the partnership. Anchorage Digital's issuance portfolio includes USDtb, developed with Ethena Labs, and USA₮, launched alongside Tether. The two institutions already share operational ties: as of August 31, approximately 99% of USDtb's roughly $530 million in reserves were held in BlackRock's BUIDL fund, which is tokenized by Securitize.[2]

NYSE-listed Securitize builds tokenization infrastructure used by asset managers including BlackRock, Apollo, KKR, VanEck, BNY, and Hamilton Lane, hosting more than $4 billion in assets on its platform according to Anchorage. Securitize Chairman and CEO Carlos Domingo noted that the dollar side of tokenized transactions requires the same scrutiny as securities, praising direct access to federally supervised digital dollars. Anchorage Digital co-founder and CEO Nathan McCauley added that regulated issuance enables tokenization to achieve institutional scale. The agreement emerged just ahead of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency releasing its final stablecoin rule under the GENIUS Act.[2]
