Privacy Pools v2 has launched as a compliance-first privacy protocol spanning seven networks, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Base, according to reports from Bankless and crypto.news. Developed by 0xbow, the upgrade expands the protocol beyond basic shielding to support private payments, asset swaps, and yield generation.[1][2][3][4]

Under the new system, users shield funds by depositing from a public wallet into a privacy pool, which severs the public connection to their balance. Deposits require approval through 0xbow's screening mechanism, though the process does not require identity verification via KYC or the use of viewing keys. Once shielded, users can send private transfers to any EVM address, make payment requests, swap assets across tokens and chains, and earn Aave yield inside the pool before withdrawing to any wallet without on-chain links to their initial deposit.[1][3][4]

The protocol is also seeing ecosystem adoption, with the Ethereum Foundation's Kohaku wallet-privacy initiative integrating Privacy Pools v2, Bankless reported.[1]
