OpenAI in talks for $30 billion funding round at $1.4 trillion valuation
OpenAI is in talks with United Arab Emirates investment funds and BlackRock to anchor a financing round of at least $30 billion at an estimated $1.4 trillion pre-money valuation, Bloomberg reported.

OpenAI is in talks with several United Arab Emirates investment funds, including Abu Dhabi-based MGX, to help anchor a financing round of at least $30 billion, Bloomberg reported. UAE investors have discussed contributing as much as $10 billion collectively, while BlackRock is also in discussions to participate alongside the syndicate.[1][2][4][5]
The company is presenting prospective investors with a fixed pre-money valuation of about $1.4 trillion rather than negotiating terms through a traditional lead-investor process. Existing backers Thrive Capital and Andreessen Horowitz have held talks about participating, and OpenAI has also engaged with the University of California's endowment.[3][5]
The large capital push arrives as OpenAI pushes potential initial public offering plans back until at least 2027 while securing funds for artificial intelligence development and infrastructure. MGX previously backed both OpenAI and competitor Anthropic, and raised nearly $50 billion earlier this year to deploy into AI tech and infrastructure.[5]
