Nvidia unveils DSX Pod modular AI data center to speed deployments

Nvidia has introduced the DSX Pod, a modular shipping-container AI factory combining seven Vera Rubin racks with pre-installed cooling and power to cut site setup times to as little as 14 days.

Nvidia announced the DSX Pod at its GTC event in Berlin, introducing a modular AI factory reference architecture designed to shrink data center deployment timelines from six months down to as little as 14 days. Built around the company's Vera Rubin computing platform, the system packages seven server racks inside a standard shipping container that can be transported by truck on normal roads, with global deliveries targeted for early 2027.[1][2][3][4][11]

Each DSX Pod weighs approximately 28,000 kilograms (nearly 62,000 pounds) and arrives with networking, cabling, rack-level power distribution, and liquid cooling pre-installed and pre-tested at manufacturing facilities. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang framed the system as a way to address European infrastructure lags, stating that AI factories create value when they begin generating tokens rather than when building construction concludes. Nvidia did not disclose official pricing for the unit, though analyst estimates cited by CNBC place the cost of an individual Vera Rubin rack at over $7 million.[1][3][8][10][11]

To bring the architecture to market alongside a new OpenShell Reference Architecture, Nvidia is partnering with 17 hardware and infrastructure vendors, including Dell Technologies, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Lenovo, Schneider Electric, and Vertiv. Techstrong.ai noted that Nvidia's 14-day setup timeline applies only after a site has prepared power, cooling, and networking connections, pointing out that permitting and local grid access will remain key constraints for operators.[4][6][9][10]

NVIDIA announced DSX POD, a new modular AI factory design that could reduce deployment time from six months to as little as 14 days. The new system is built around $NVDA's Vera Rubin platform and allows complete AI factories to be assembled, integrated, and tested inside modular containers before being delivered to customers. Instead of building everything on-site, NVIDIA's partners can preinstall computing systems, networking, cabling, rack-level power, and liquid cooling at manufacturing facilities. Once delivered, the containers can connect to a prepared site's infrastructure, allowing companies to start running AI workloads and generating revenue much sooner. NVIDIA is working with 17 partners to bring DSX POD AI factories to market, including: • Dell Technologies • HPE • Lenovo • Schneider Electric • Vertiv • Anduril • Armada • Bull • Crusoe • DayOne • Delta • Eaton • Foxconn (Ingrasys) • GIGABYTE • Pegatron • Quanta Cloud Technology (QCT) • Wistron NVIDIA expects these modular AI factories to become available worldwide in early 2027.

$NVDA just unveiled DSX POD which is a modular Vera Rubin AI factory with compute, networking and liquid cooling already installed that could cut deployment times from 6 months to as little as 14 days. And with $SPCX recently citing compute pricing above $50 per watt annually that means getting that capacity online nearly 6 months sooner could mean ~$23M in earlier revenue per MW.

NVIDIA unveiled DSX POD at GTC Berlin, a shipping-container-sized AI factory that integrates seven Vera Rubin racks with cabling, networking, power distribution and liquid cooling already installed and tested before it leaves the manufacturer, with the company claiming deployment in 14 days instead of six months. That figure is a vendor claim and the clock only starts once power, cooling and networking are in place, though for European buyers grid access and permitting may decide when tokens flow long before the container arrives.
