Instagram has launched a dedicated app for Apple TV, marking the first time the Meta-owned platform has been made available on Apple's streaming hardware, according to reports by MacRumors and The Verge.[1][2][4]

The new television app allows users to view Reels, longer-form videos, and live creator shows directly on home television screens. The roll-out expands on Instagram's existing living room footprint, following prior availability across Fire TV, Google TV, and Samsung smart TVs.[2][4][5][6]

Interface previews shared alongside the release show a mobile notification login mechanism to secure accounts alongside viewing features tailored for shared screens. The move also comes as part of broader competition against YouTube's established presence on connected televisions, according to Neowin.[3][5]
