Hugging Face has released Carbon-X, an open-source artificial intelligence model designed to let researchers query DNA sequences through natural language, according to reporting by Wired and Business Insider. Crypto Briefing separately reported the launch as Carbon, describing it as an open-source model family created to democratize genomic research, broaden access to advanced DNA analysis, and accelerate scientific discovery.[1][2][3][4]

Reported by Wired's Emily Mullin, Carbon-X is a 14-billion-parameter multimodal model trained on 300 billion tokens of DNA and text data. The model is built to help scientists interpret the biological language of DNA and evaluate how sequence variations affect gene activity and health. According to AGTP, the model can also run locally on a laptop.[3][4][5]
