Google has launched SynthID Detector, an improved AI content detection website available globally in English that allows anyone to check whether an image, video, or audio file was generated by artificial intelligence. According to Neowin, access to the verification portal was previously restricted to journalists and researchers before being opened to the general public.[2][3][4][6]

The website supports dozens of common file formats, according to Techmeme citing TechCrunch reporting. Alongside Google's own watermarking, the tool integrates partner watermarks and can detect media produced with AI tools from OpenAI, Nvidia, and Kakao, with Engadget reporting that detection extends to content created with Apple tools and other companies. Crypto Briefing noted that Google's broader rollout of SynthID is aimed at boosting transparency, trust, and accountability in AI-generated content.[1][5][6][7]
