Fiserv launches bank digital asset platform on Solana with Roughrider Coin
Fiserv has launched a bank-focused digital asset platform on Solana, featuring the Bank of North Dakota's USD-backed Roughrider Coin as its inaugural live product.

Fiserv has officially launched its bank-focused digital asset platform on the Solana blockchain, marking its debut with the Bank of North Dakota's dollar-backed stablecoin as its first live use case. Known as Roughrider Coin, the token is designed to enable more than 90 participating banks and credit unions across North Dakota to transfer dollar-backed funds between institutions.[1][2][3][5]
Roughrider Coin is issued by VersaBank, while Fireblocks is providing infrastructure for the platform. Fiserv stated that the interbank token is restricted strictly to financial institutions. While the rollout across North Dakota institutions is underway, transaction volumes and active-sender counts remain undisclosed.[2][4][5]
