EBay plans to eliminate approximately 9% of its workforce, according to an internal CEO memo seen by Reuters. The online marketplace said the job cuts are aimed at simplifying operations and reallocating resources toward higher-growth areas and top-performing units.[1][3][5][6][8]

The reduction is expected to affect roughly 1,000 to 1,100 roles. Mint reported that the 9% cut could touch around 1,100 employees based on eBay's total workforce of 12,300 at the end of last year.[2][4]

The downsizing marks the company's second round of workforce reductions this year. In February, eBay cut around 800 workers, or roughly 6% of its employees, during an earlier restructuring effort.[3][4][6][7][9]
