Datavault AI stock (DVLT) plummeted nearly 50% following disclosures that the company has been unable to withdraw bitcoin held at cryptocurrency exchange Biconomy since June 2026, according to reports by The Block and CoinDesk. Crypto Briefing noted that the situation highlights the firm's financial instability and the broader risks associated with illiquid crypto assets.[1][2][3][4]

The trapped funds stem from a September 2025 transaction in which Scilex Holding agreed to purchase Datavault shares and warrants for $150 million payable in bitcoin. The assets were credited to Datavault's Biconomy wallet via an offchain transfer.[3][4]

Because the bitcoin on Biconomy remains inaccessible, Datavault stated that an upcoming accounting correction will reduce its reported assets at the end of 2025 by $92.2 million.[2][5]
