Crypto casino Duelbits took its website offline and extended planned downtime following a Thursday hack that co-founder Joe estimated at roughly $7 million. On Friday afternoon, Joe stated on X that the platform required more time offline to secure systems and refill its hot and cold wallets, while maintaining that user funds are safe and that customers may withdraw immediately upon request. Duelbits previously stated it took down the platform to investigate a security incident and was rebuilding its deposit and withdrawal servers.[3][4][5]

Onchain tracking revealed divergent estimates of the stolen funds. Scam Sniffer reported that hot wallets transferred about $4.2 million across Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, and Tron, citing a suspected private key compromise. PeckShield counted about $4.3 million moved on Ethereum and BNB Chain, adding that the attacker swapped the assets into roughly 1,588 ETH and 31,500 DAI before routing the ether to an address holding approximately 2,333.6 ETH. Separately, CoinDesk reported that attackers drained hot wallets across four blockchains and that about $6 million in stolen funds was held in a single Ethereum address.[3][4]

Duelbits has not publicly confirmed the root cause of the breach or accounted for the remainder of the estimated $7 million. The incident follows a prior breach in February 2024, when security firm CertiK reported that about $4.6 million was taken from the casino.[3][1]
