Coinbase and card-issuing platform Marqeta are expanding their existing partnership to introduce stablecoin-backed payment cards for enterprise customers. Under the initiative, Marqeta's enterprise clients can issue cards funded by stablecoins, according to reports by The Block and PYMNTS.[3][2][4][5]

The operational architecture divides roles across the two companies. Coinbase will oversee stablecoin custody alongside conversion into fiat currency, while onchain settlement will be powered by Base. Marqeta will manage card issuance and transaction processing.[3][4][2]
