Coinbase launches IPO access for US retail investors starting with Oura
Coinbase has launched an initial public offering access service allowing eligible U.S. retail investors to request share allocations before public trading begins. Debuting with smart-ring maker Oura, the service represents an early step in Coinbase's broader Everything Exchange strategy.

Coinbase has launched an initial public offering access feature enabling eligible U.S. retail customers to request share allocations directly through its app at the offering price before public-market trading commences. The service debuts with smart-ring maker Oura, which is reportedly targeting a $2.0 billion to $2.2 billion IPO.[3][5][1][4][7]
Allocations are not guaranteed and may be filled in full, in part, or not at all depending on demand. Coinbase has also instituted an anti-flipping rule under which investors who sell their IPO shares within 30 days may be barred from participating in subsequent offerings for 60 days, with repeated early sales potentially reducing future allocations. The service is provided by Coinbase Capital Markets, a FINRA-registered broker-dealer, while execution, clearing, and custody are handled by Apex Clearing Corporation.[3][5]
Coinbase described the launch as the first step in its Everything Exchange initiative, which aims to manage the lifecycle of assets from issuance through secondary trading. Other upcoming listings, such as Anthropic, have also been cited by reports in connection with the platform's IPO expansion.[6][8][2]
