Coinbase completes Deribit integration and plans Coinbase Pro return by year-end
Coinbase has completed its integration of Deribit to form the Coinbase Global Exchange and announced plans to relaunch its Coinbase Pro trading platform by the end of the year.

Coinbase has completed its integration of crypto derivatives exchange Deribit, establishing what it calls the Coinbase Global Exchange, according to reports by The Block and Unchained. Alongside the integration, Coinbase announced that it will relaunch Coinbase Pro by year-end as a dedicated platform for high-volume active traders. The resurrected platform has opened a waitlist and plans to offer spot, futures, perpetuals, options, and equities trading.[1][3]
The combined exchange held more than $30 billion in Bitcoin options open interest as of Sept. 30, following Deribit's processing of over $1 trillion in trading volume last year, Unchained reported. Through its futures commission merchant, Coinbase Financial Markets, Coinbase will link U.S. and international derivatives markets into a single regulated liquidity pool following May CFTC guidance. U.S. institutional onboarding is now open to access Deribit's options and perpetual futures through Coinbase Prime.[2][3]
The company plans to roll out options, spot margin trading, and unified portfolios over the coming weeks. Spot margin trading will offer up to 10x leverage on select major assets and 5x on others across more than 15 supported collateral assets. Coinbase noted that options trading will reach eligible users in the Coinbase app starting in late October, with U.S. retail access slated for later this year. Additionally, a new matching engine and updated Coinbase Advanced fee tiers starting at $10,000 in qualifying volume are now live.[2][3]
