Bitcoin staking protocol B14g exploited for 97 million CORE tokens
Bitcoin staking protocol B14g froze its staking contracts after an attacker exploited a withdrawal flaw to drain 97 million CORE tokens worth $1.47 million, driving the token to an all-time low.

Bitcoin staking protocol B14g suffered unauthorized withdrawals on its staking contracts on Oct. 31, leading to the theft of 97 million CORE tokens valued at roughly $1.47 million, according to reports from Solid Intel and Coin Bureau. BSCN reported that the protocol quickly identified the issue and froze its staking contracts.[1][2][3]
The exploit took advantage of a contract logic flaw. Citing blockchain analytics firm Bitquery, Coin Bureau stated that the attacker drained 91 staking orders by requesting to withdraw 0 CORE from each order, which the staking contract code misinterpreted as an instruction to release the entire balance.[2]
The breach triggered a steep sell-off in the Core DAO token. BSCN shared a chart showing CORE sliding 7.44% over 24 hours to $0.01405 following the initial report. Coin Bureau noted that the token plunged 12% to an all-time low of approximately $0.01331, leaving it down more than 22% over the week and 99.8% below its 2023 high of $6.14.[1][2]
