Apple partners with LG to develop smart home devices under LG brand
Apple is pushing further into the smart home market through a partnership with LG Electronics to co-develop LG-branded accessories, including smart doorbells, locks, thermostats, and security cameras.

Apple is expanding its smart home footprint through an unusual partnership with LG Electronics to develop accessories that will carry the LG brand, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The collaboration is structured as a second-party development arrangement, with LG handling both manufacturing and ongoing product support for the newly surfaced hardware.[2][3][4][8]
The co-developed lineup covers a suite of security and home control gear, including video doorbells, smart locks, thermostats, and cameras ranging across indoor, outdoor, and floodlight configurations. The LG-branded products are planned to work with Apple's upcoming smart home hardware and Home Hub, and they may support Matter, Thread, and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) standards to help Apple compete more aggressively against Amazon Ring and Google Nest.[1][5][6][7][9][10][11][13]
The release timeframe for the products has drawn differing accounts. Gurman reported that the upcoming smart home accessories remain at least a few more months away from launch, whereas a relay by Unusual Whales stated the devices were set to be introduced on October 13.[2][12]
