Anthropic has restructured its premium Claude subscription tiers, renaming its $100-per-month Max 5x plan to Max and its $200-per-month Max 20x plan to Ultra. Alongside the rebranding, the company removed the previous five-hour session limit for verified Ultra subscribers, rolling out the change starting with most existing users.[1][2][5]

Subscription pricing remains untouched, and Anthropic noted that current members do not need to take any action. According to Claude's pricing page cited by Decrypt, the $100 Max plan provides five times Pro's usage alongside $100 in monthly API credits, while the $200 Ultra plan offers ten times Pro's weekly usage and $200 in monthly API credits. The Daily Block reported that weekly usage limits still apply to Ultra users despite the removal of the session duration cap.[1][2][4]

Removing the session duration cap aims to improve user flexibility and productivity for extended AI workflows, potentially increasing retention and satisfaction among Claude's highest-tier subscribers.[2][3]
