Anthropic launches Claude integration for Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides

Anthropic has announced that Claude now works directly inside Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, enabling two-way file interaction and requiring user approval for document edits.

Anthropic announced on Tuesday that its artificial intelligence assistant, Claude, now operates directly within Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. According to the company, the feature works both ways, enabling Google Workspace files to be opened and accessed directly inside Claude as well.[1][2][3][4][6]

Billed under promotional graphics as Claude for Google Workspace, the tool can read and edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, according to Cointelegraph, which noted that each change made by the assistant requires user approval.[1][7]

The rollout places Claude directly alongside Google's native Gemini assistant, which already runs inside Workspace apps, while Anthropic continues as a major Google Cloud customer.[5]
