Trump to award National Medal of Science to Elon Musk and tech leaders
President Trump is scheduled to present national science and technology medals to several prominent technology executives, including Elon Musk, Jensen Huang, and Satya Nadella, at a White House summit on Thursday.
President Trump will award the National Medal of Science to Elon Musk, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, and AMD CEO Lisa Su at the White House on Thursday. The presentation is set to occur during the White House's "Science: A New Golden Age Summit," honoring the executives with what is recognized as the country's highest scientific achievement award.[1][2][3][5]
In addition to the science honors, Michael Dell and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will receive the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, Fox News reported. The presentation marks Trump's first time conferring these medals during either of his presidential administrations, and Fox News described the event as another step in Musk's return to Trump's orbit following an earlier public feud between the two.[1][5][7]
The awards highlight a strategic effort to reinforce American leadership in artificial intelligence and technology through public-private collaboration, according to Crypto Briefing. Commentator Shay Boloor noted that Musk's honor comes as his businesses continue to expand across artificial intelligence, space, robotics, energy, and transportation.[4][6][8]
