Standard Chartered is preparing to launch digital asset custody services in Singapore, covering selected cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and tokenized real-world assets. The planned offering is restricted to institutional clients and accredited corporate investors, explicitly excluding retail participants.[1][3][5][6][7]

The service will integrate digital asset custody directly with financing and securities services the bank already provides. According to Patrick Lee, Standard Chartered's CEO of Singapore and ASEAN & South Asia, secure infrastructure is critical as tokenized assets continue to expand. The bank stated that the Singapore rollout will extend its existing crypto custody footprint across the UAE, Luxembourg, and Hong Kong.[2][3][5]

The offering remains subject to regulatory requirements. As reported by CoinGape, a target launch date and formal regulatory clearance from the Monetary Authority of Singapore have not yet been disclosed.[1][4][6]
