OpenAI alleged in a court filing that an employee who left the artificial intelligence company to return to Apple took more than 100 confidential files concerning an unreleased product, according to legal documents reported by Reuters. The company claimed the individual transferred the files to personal accounts in June on their final day of work before joining Apple.[1][2][7][9]

According to OpenAI's brief, the transferred material included detailed images of unreleased devices, engineering specifications, and supplier information. The filing further accused the former staffer of later delivering a presentation about the unreleased device directly to senior Apple leadership.[2][3][5][6][8]

OpenAI also stated in the filing that Apple has not provided assurances that it is not in possession of or using OpenAI's proprietary data. Apple responded that it found no evidence supporting OpenAI's accusations in the ongoing trade secrets litigation, which Apple originally brought against OpenAI in July.[4][5]
