Data center developer TeraWulf has secured credit support from Google to assist in debt financing for a data center campus in Hawesville, Kentucky, according to Reuters and market reports. The facility is tied to a previously announced 20-year, $19 billion lease commitment with artificial intelligence company Anthropic. The $19 billion sum represents contracted lease obligations rather than financing supplied directly by Google.[2][3][4][5]

Google's credit backstop strengthens the project's financing profile and could help TeraWulf secure more competitive long-term borrowing terms and lower financing costs as it raises capital for construction.[1][2][5]

TeraWulf also signed a definitive construction contract with Fluor covering three data center buildings at the Justified Data Campus. The sites are scheduled for phased ready-for-service delivery beginning in late 2027 and continuing through the second quarter of 2028. Separately, TeraWulf recently expanded its contracted power capacity to 1 gigawatt at its Muskie Data Campus in eastern Kentucky.[2][3][4]
