French National Assembly rejects budget revenue section, dropping crypto tax proposals
France's National Assembly has rejected the revenue portion of the 2027 budget bill, removing three crypto-focused amendments that covered stablecoin taxation and self-custody wallet reporting from the version heading to the Senate.

France's National Assembly has voted down the revenue section of the 2027 budget bill, according to reports by crypto.news and Coin Telegraph. The rejection sidelines several crypto tax proposals and removes three previously adopted amendments from the draft sent to the Senate.[1][3]
The dropped provisions included proposed taxes on stablecoin conversions as well as disclosure rules for self-custody crypto wallets. Crypto Briefing reported that one of the discarded proposals was a rule requiring reporting on self-custody crypto holdings exceeding €100,000.[1][2][3]
While the three measures have fallen away from the budget legislation for now, they could still be reintroduced when the bill undergoes consideration in the French Senate, according to Coin Telegraph.[3]
