The Ethereum Foundation has scheduled the Glamsterdam network upgrade to activate on the Hoodi testnet on October 26, 2026, at 17:42:48 UTC, targeting epoch 132,352 and slot 4,235,264. At the same epoch, Hoodi's gas limit will be raised to 200 million, matching the configuration on the Sepolia testnet, where the upgrade went live on October 6.[1][3]

Glamsterdam introduces key architectural changes to Ethereum's Layer 1 scaling roadmap, including enshrined proposer-builder separation (ePBS) and block-level access lists (BALs) designed to allow parallel transaction validation and boost throughput. The upgrade also revamps gas accounting and execution pricing to better reflect the costs of state creation, data access, and overall state growth.[1][3]

A date for mainnet deployment has not yet been determined. While the testnet deployment is designed to advance scalability, market impact may stay limited until a firm timeline for the mainnet rollout is established, according to Crypto Briefing.[2][3]
