Anthropic generated $16.3 billion in revenue during the first half of 2026, up from $1.1 billion a year earlier, while recording an $80.7 billion net loss largely driven by accounting adjustments, according to a draft IPO prospectus obtained by The Wall Street Journal. The filing highlights immense infrastructure expenses, including nearly $9 billion spent on compute and infrastructure in the first six months of 2026 compared to $2.3 billion in the prior-year period.[4][3][8][7]

The draft filing outlines extensive forward-looking infrastructure commitments, with the company on the hook for roughly $450 billion in mostly noncancelable cloud computing agreements over the next seven to ten years. These obligations include $111 billion with Google, $110 billion with Amazon Web Services, and $31 billion with Microsoft regardless of usage, alongside up to $86 billion to rent Nvidia chips from Nscale and Lambda. Factoring in a deal exceeding $160 billion with Broadcom to lease Google chips, and another $150 billion under negotiation, total compute and infrastructure commitments could reach $750 billion.[1][2][6]

The prospectus also detailed significant business and model risks. About 20% of Anthropic's revenue in the first half of 2026 came from just two customers, and the company indicated it expects a significant portion of its sales to remain concentrated among a limited group. Anthropic also acknowledged bearing liability for certain harmful model behaviors and cautioned that damages resulting from a potential catastrophic AI-related incident could be too large to insure.[2][4]

The WSJ has seen Anthropic's new draft prospectus. Some numbers: They plan to spend three-quarters of a trillion dollars on compute over the next seven to ten years. - $111 billion on Google cloud computing contracts - $110 billion with Amazon Web Services - $31 billion on Microsoft - $86 billion on Nscale and Lambda - $160 billion on Broadcom - $150 billion in additional compute deals under negotiation I don't see Elon/Colossus listed here? So unless they put that under future negotiations (which seems odd) I think that's another $85 billion through 2029. Unless it's been been cancelled? It only requires 90 days notice to do so. Around one-fifth of Anths revenue in the first half of 2026 came from just two unnamed customers. They expect a 'significant portion' of their revenue will come from a 'limited number of customers for the foreseeable future.' They said they bear liability for certain harmful model behaviors, and warn that the 'harm that could result from a catastrophic AI-related incident' might be so large that it would be unable to obtain insurance to cover the potential damages.

good job to the WSJ for getting the s-1 but i'm sorry - NOT including the actual compute/personnel/sales and marketing costs other than in this impossible-to-read chart is absolutely awful https://t.co/qiE4JaUf2d
