Bengaluru-based EloElo Group has raised $80 million (nearly ₹756 crore) in a Series C funding round co-led by NBCUniversal and India-focused investment firm Hornbill Capital. Existing investors Kalaari Capital, Play Ventures, and Waterbridge Ventures also participated. The round values the company at $500 million according to TechCrunch, while reporting from Variety notes that the transaction brings EloElo's total funding to $130 million.[1][2][4][5][7][8]

EloElo was founded in 2020 by former Flipkart executive Saurabh Pandey. Following the fundraise, the company plans to pursue international expansion as it aims to build what it describes as the "Netflix of micro-drama." Fresh proceeds will also be directed toward investing in premium original content across Indian languages and strengthening Dolphin AI, the startup's AI-powered creative suite.[3][5]

The funding comes as the serialized microdrama format rapidly expands in India, where TechCrunch reports more than 118 million users stream microdramas monthly. EloElo's Story TV app now hosts over 5,000 microdramas across six languages and counts an estimated 33 million-plus active users, while the parent group claims over 40 million monthly active users across its portfolio of applications.[4][5][6][8]
