A dormant wallet linked to Clifton Collins moved 500 BTC, worth about $41.52 million, into Coinbase Prime after remaining inactive for more than a decade, on-chain tracking service Lookonchain reported. Blockchain news outlet BSCN noted that the transaction represents the first significant outbound transfer from the dormant wallet cluster in more than ten years.[2][3]
The transferred coins originate from a 6,000 BTC fortune that Collins, a former Irish cannabis dealer, acquired prior to 2012, according to crypto intelligence platform Arkham. In 2017, Collins was imprisoned, after which his landlord cleared out his belongings and sent them to a dump.[1][3]
The entire multi-thousand-bitcoin stash had long been presumed lost following the loss of the physical private keys required to access it. Arkham's intelligence dashboard shows Collins' tracked addresses still held roughly 3,500 BTC valued at more than $291 million at the time of the transfer, with the latest 500 BTC tranche routed toward Coinbase deposit infrastructure.[1][2][3]
