BNB Chain releases v0.1.4 hotfix for BSC-Reth node operators

BNB Chain has rolled out a v0.1.4 hotfix for BSC-Reth, calling on mainnet and testnet node operators to upgrade and restart their nodes as soon as possible to resolve a state-root calculation issue.

BNB Chain has released the v0.1.4-hotfix for BSC-Reth, urging mainnet and testnet node operators to install the update and restart their nodes immediately. According to reports from Cointelegraph and crypto.news, regular network users do not need to take any action.[1][3]

Release details published on GitHub indicate that the hotfix targets all reth-bsc node operators across BSC mainnet and testnet, including validators, MEV builders, full nodes, and sentry operators. The release package incorporates upstream Reth state-root fix #20264, which resolves a flaw that could cause the legacy state-root calculation path to calculate an incorrect root under specific trie conditions.[3]

The update does not require a database migration or a hard fork, and operators only need to install v0.1.4-hotfix and reboot their clients.
