Blockchain.com applies for CFTC licenses to offer prediction markets and crypto derivatives

Digital asset platform Blockchain.com has applied for Commodity Futures Trading Commission licenses to introduce prediction markets and cryptocurrency derivatives in the United States.

Digital asset platform Blockchain.com has applied for regulatory approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to offer prediction markets and crypto derivatives in the United States, according to a report by CNBC. Cointelegraph and The Block also reported on the filing.[3][4][1]

The company's regulatory bid includes applications for a designated contract market license as well as a futures commission merchant registration with the CFTC, Quartz reported.[2]

While seeking U.S. registration, Blockchain.com already operates similar offerings internationally. The platform provides event contracts to non-U.S. users via Polymarket and offers perpetual futures powered by Hyperliquid, according to The Block.[1]
